1. Application

This integrated aluminum alloy shielding housing is a core protection and mounting component customized for high-end industrial control motherboards, automotive electronic control units (ECU), and communication base station RF modules. Composed of a base and a cover, it undertakes the functions of physical protection, electromagnetic shielding, heat dissipation and structural fixation for precision electronic components, perfectly adapting to harsh industrial and automotive working conditions with high electromagnetic interference and high vibration. It is widely used in autonomous driving controllers, industrial PLCs, 5G communication modules and other fields, providing a stable and reliable operating environment for electronic systems.

2. Material & Performance

Core Material:

6061-T6 Aluminum Alloy (benchmark material for electronic equipment housings, adapting to the shielding, heat dissipation and lightweight requirements of this part)

3. Processing Method

This part adopts 5-axis linkage CNC high-speed precision milling process, integrally cutting and forming from a solid aluminum bar, completely avoiding the hidden danger of shielding performance caused by welding/splicing.

  • Core processes: integrated forming of base multi-cavity/positioning posts, precision machining of cover sealing grooves, high-precision mounting hole/threaded hole tapping, special-shaped contour milling
  • Auxiliary processes: high-gloss sealing surface precision milling, contour chamfering, deburring, surface mirror brushing treatment, ensuring the housing fit accuracy and shielding sealing
  • Full CNC programming, one-time clamping to complete multi-sided machining, ensuring the consistency of fit tolerance and positioning post coaxiality between the base and the cover
4. Machining Accuracy & Usage Requirements

Machining Accuracy:

  • Dimensional tolerance: ±0.01mm, strictly matching the fit clearance between the base and the cover, ensuring electromagnetic shielding sealing
  • Geometric tolerance: sealing surface flatness ≤0.02mm, positioning post coaxiality ≤0.015mm
  • Surface roughness: Ra≤1.6μm, sealing surface Ra≤0.8μm, improving fit sealing and electromagnetic shielding effect

Usage Requirements:

  • Adapt to a wide temperature working environment of -40℃~85℃, can withstand high-frequency vibration and electromagnetic interference
  • No deformation or sealing failure during long-term use, ensuring the reliability of electromagnetic shielding performance and structural protection
  • Clean the sealing surface before assembly to avoid impurities affecting the shielding effect and protection performance
5. Heat Treatment

With heat treatment, adopting solution treatment + artificial aging (T6 state) process.

  • Core purpose: completely eliminate processing internal stress, improve material strength and dimensional stability, avoid warpage and deformation of the housing after long-term use, and ensure the long-term consistency of sealing fit accuracy and electromagnetic shielding performance.
6. Post-treatment

Natural color mirror brushing treatment, retaining the original metallic texture of aluminum alloy.

  • Process advantages: improve surface finish and wear resistance, enhance electromagnetic shielding effect, optimize appearance texture, facilitate visual inspection and assembly positioning inside the equipment, fully meet environmental protection requirements, and can be used directly without additional coating.
7. Quality Control
